At Pixie's Project Organisation we aim to spread awareness to ALL ages. This is done in many ways and we offer a personal approach for each school; so we urge you to ask for any changes to the presentation and we are more than happy to try and accommodate this.
In High School ages and colleges it is focussed on my personal journey with Anorexia and Mental Health as well as covering symptoms and signs, explaining the illness and ways in which people can access help. There is a Q&A at the end providing pupils with the opportunity to ask questions, as well as this I like to give out paper and collect annonomous questions in towards the end of the session (where possible) as this helps pupils who are uncomfortable about publicly speaking.
We also send review sheets out following the sessions with an option for the pupil to ask for help annonomously or a self-help booklet.
The focus in Primary schools is the way we look after ourselves, teaching the children self-care and working on their self-esteem which could in future help us to combat this deadly disease.
Primary schools are provided with the same option to change the presentation where they see fit.
Primary Years 4+-3 :
A presentation focussing on why we should love ourselves, why we are different and what happens when we don't look after ourselves.
Primary Years 4-6 :
A presentation focussing on why we should love ourselves, accept others and again what happens when we don't look after ourselves.
Years 7-9 has two options :
Option 1- A focus on self-esteem and bullying.
Option 2- A focus on self-care acceptance and self worth.
Years 10+:
This is adaptable and we urge you strongly to communicate with us on any parts you would like highlighting or changing. Obviously, we aim to accommodate these requests as often as we can.
